    Memories - A poem
Memories As I sit here and think of the past 34 years When I rode on my 1st Harley and drank so many beers All the memories flood in like a river overflowing I still ride today, I am forever growing Each year I'm alive and think...  more Memories As I sit here and think of the past 34 years When I rode on my 1st Harley and drank so many beers All the memories flood in like a river overflowing I still ride today, I am forever growing Each year I'm alive and think of the past The memories abound, I hope they will last Some good, Some bad, Some Happy, Some sad I am thankful for this life and all that I've had So I'll ride each day, and look forward to tomorrow Life is too short to be living in sorrow Ride Safe and Live Long is the motto I preach Go out and explore, its all within reach Hold the Memories close and don't let them slip away The memories we make, we make every day When it comes for my time to die, and I leave for that big open road in the sky Remember the fun and things that were said, and remember the memories, and I'll never be dead Ride safe and Live long American Hellcat  less

What's kept me occupied recently has been the publishing of my forthcoming first hardcover book, Asphalt Range.  Within the reader will find over 100 original throttle to pen poems as well as personal commentary harvested from thirty plus years of riding and writing. Included within each purchase are two audio CD's of all material, recorded by yours truly. Woven within the fabric of this leather clad literature is a unique collection of road reflection, set to rhyme, shifting through every gear of the reader's emotions, culminating into what will surely become saddle bag favorites.  Whether or not the reader has ever straddled a saddle, graybeard to grand kid, a literal ride awaits, in the wind, atop a steel steed, upon an Asphalt Range. Thank you for your time and consideration, Larry www.AsphaltRange.com www.AsphaltRange.com    less

    Cowboy and Biker
    American Biker Poet

    Cowboy and Biker
    A long, dusty road
    Dismounted respective saddles
    In an effort to unload

    “Where ya headin’?” says Cowboy
    Biker gave a stare
“Wherever my kickstand sets to rest
    That’s when I know I’m there”

Both men spoke of rides long past
    Of those yet still beyond
Of horse, horse power, helmet and hat
    A handshake being their bond

How lives resigned to freedom’s fight
    Accept all consequences
    How those forsaking freedom’s blood
    Accept a life of fences

Biker pulled out a well-worn flask
Two swigs were left, at most
Told the Cowboy, “One’s for you
I propose we drink a toast”

“Here’s to the ladies, pure as day
Who tried to steer us right
Here’s to those who made it hard
    The ladies of the night”

“Here’s to bein’ right with God
    Learnin’ from mistakes
To fixin’ all the wrong ya can
    Doin’ what it takes”

A deep voiced drawl bellowed, “Amen”
    A leather vested, “Righteous” replied
As a long, dusty road beckoned
For a Cowboy and Biker to ride
