The mechanics Mike, a buddy of mine, but may be a little over confident in his skills assured me it would be ready in two weeks. This was March 16th. He called me and asked if I wanted to change out all of the seals and gaskets, piston rings and adjust my valves while he had it all apart. I said sure, why not. I practically stole the bike for 3 grand so I figured I'd have a brand new one when all was said and done. Well he had hell putting everything back together but a month later he was done. I was on the rig when I got this call, a lot of good it does me. Well he was going for a spin and the starter/clutch assembly crapped out. No problem, he gets a new one and somehow while using a bearing puller splits my crankshaft in two. I'm $2000 into this and 6 f**king weeks without a f**king bike. I'm at my wit's end. I sent...    less

I have a 357 handgun in a hip holster, a .45 in the left the saddlebag and a .22 derringer in my boot."   The officer looked at the biker and asked, "Anything else?" "Yes. I have a Mossberg 500 12 gauge and an AR-15 in the sidecar."   The officer asked if the man was driving to or from a shooting range and the man said he wasn't, so the officer bent over and looked into the driver's face and said ...    less

With super-human strength, borne of fury, cutting firewood, lifting sacks of feed, and bales of hay, she dragged him down the stairs, out the back door, and into the barn. She put his manhood in a vise,  secured it tightly, and removed the handle. Next, she picked up an old carpenter's saw.     The banged up cheater was terrified, and hollered, "Stop! Stop! You're not gonna cut it off with that rusty saw, are you?"     The wife, with a gleam of revenge in her eye, put the saw in her husband's hand and said......   "Nope....You are!  I'm gonna burn down the barn!"  less

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I  came across was a 100,000-volt,  pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat  to safety....?? WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home.. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button  and pressed it against a metal surface at the  same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain...    less

thats what you get for buying a pice of shit, should of bought brand new then go trouble free.

Sounds like the cry of the *Great Pathetic American Wannabe* to me...dude, just because you apparently can't/won't pick up a wrench doesn't mean that the only way to go is to throw it away and get a new one every time you have a minor issue!  Some of us actually ENJOY working on older iron, massaging it back to life, keeping classic bikes running like new...but hey, I guess without people like you in the world, the manufacturers would go belly up, right?  Have fun with your sparkling, shiny, under warranty brandy-new ride...it's a shame you'll never get to truly understand what an engineering marvel it really is!

TOO MUCH CASH + CRAPPY ATTITUDE - MECHANICAL APTITUDE = RUBBIE!!!

Gotta agree with the general concensus here...you shouldn't be liable for ANYTHING over what you agreed to have done (i.e. seal, gaskets, and rings, with the valve lash adjustment)! Anything that the shop did to kill this ride after that is on them, and if they're a reputable place, they should make it right for you! Not sure of the laws in your state, but you may have a small claims or civil court case, depending on the total amount lost here. Good luck and it's a good thing you have the Vulcan (nice ride, btw)!

Check the wires for the left cylinders...I have one of these bikes, rode it for years. If the boots are loose and will spin on the wire (they should be fairly tight), trim about 1/8th of an inch off the wires, then "screw" the boots back in place. This'll give you a better electrical connection, and should help with the popping...I learned this one through alot of trial and error on my ol' 900Custom!
