    Spokes or Mags
Don't answer too quickly now.    Aside from "the look", what other reasons might you have for preferring one over the other? Peace

I usually do my own work but I picked up a bike for my son who turned 16 on 8/1 and it was running rough and didn't have time to tinker with it, So I sent it to them for repair. After a week got it home and it wouldn't idle, So I sent it back and it's been over a week and they still haven't finished it and everytime I call I am told: " We will call when it is finished" and I already paid over $740.00 for the first visit which was for the same thing. In the mjeantime my son is going stir crazy wanting to ride and it is still there!!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! LOL.  less

After having travelled many years on my motorcycle, the formula has been consistent.  With the exception of power runs and having given myself plenty of time to get where I want to be, at the end of my trip my average speed has been between 50 mph, never more than 55 mph. In a previous post I said that we ride 6 hours a day and then it's time for this old coot to wind down.  So, 6 hours on the road is going put me 300+ miles down the highway.  I caluculate all my travel based on making some place 300 miles away.  That's not to say I won't push it some.  Afterall, some roads lead to nowhere and ya just have to compensate for that.  So, how do ya'll figure out your distances? Peace  less

For me it's a flask of Wild Turkey (for keeping warm, don't drink and ride kids), a $5 multitool from wal-mart, a small hammer (for making "adjustments" to the bike, not people's wing mirrors, promise) my crap bedroll, a couple extra packs of smokes and about 15 bic lighters (I lose those things faster than I can smoke the cigarettes they're supposed to light).  I've got it all jammed in a backpack strapped to the queen seat on my KZ750, with my gloves and goggle.  The backpack also does a pretty good job holding my jacket under it when it's too hot to wear it. What about you? -Z  less

After that were a series harleys.  I don't think i ever went a summer without riding since 1977.  In 1992, i bought my own bike ,  it was a 79 sportster.  I never felt comfortable it.  It always felt awkward.  I thought it was because i was riding solo rather than just vegging out on the back.  Perhaps that was part of it, but about 5 years ago i bought  a 2000  Honda Shadow.  Man she fits like a freakiin' glove... so comfortable!    I wouldn't trade her for anything!  Looking forward to a new summer...    less

that's just unacceptable. I work for a dealership. if a bike comes back that we worked on, it get's worked on first, and made right. it should have never left the shop if it had the same problem. sloppy work

average day of riding is between 200-450 miles, no major highways. I did do a trip this past may to North Carolina. 700 miles in 12.5 hrs. when I had my Goldwing, it was always at night, cooler and less idiots on the road. we did Montreal from NJ (500 miles) in 9 hours.
