Hey Dualsport, I noticed you posted a few times in the forums about coming out here for THE Rally. I live 15 miles from Sturgis and can point you in the right direction if you want to ride the scenic roads. My favorite is Custer State Park. The Needles Highway is FANTASTIC! Lots of hair-pin turns, some wildlife (buffalo, mountain goat, deer, etc), and Sylvan Lake is beautiful....You get the idea. Iron Mountain Road is very cool too. I suggest grabbing a map because it can get confusing in the park. I have been on the Wildlife Loop and it is nice, but doesn't compare to Needles.

If you hit Deadwood, head out on Hwy. 385 to Hill City and Keystone then Iron Mountain Road, then to the Needles and if you have time you can finish up at Mt. Rushmore. Wednesday is the day to hit Hulet, WY. and Devils Tower--HUGE party! If you take Boulder Canyon (14a) between Deadwood and Sturgis, be careful. There are a lot of accidents in there. Mostly people crossing the center line/going too fast. It is a nice ride though. Spearfish Canyon is awesome and a must see. Crazy Horse of course! Another fun and scenic ride, but also dangerous, is Vanocker Canyon between Sturgis and Nemo. That should keep you busy for the week!

If you plan on coming out a few days early, join us up in Lead for a poker run. Details on my page or our website www.bikersagainstprostatecancer.com. Hope to see you there. Have fun and ride safe.

A quick update on the August 6th Poker run. We have details on our website as well. For prizes and silent auction items we have (so far):
    • Barnett has donated a gift certificate for a new Scorpian clutch valued at $550.00!
    • First Gold Hotel in Deadwood has donated lodging and dinner for 2!
    • Aasylum Tattoo in Spearfish has donated two $100.00 gift certificates!
    • Wild Idea Tattoo in Rapid City has donated a $50.00 gift certificate!
    • The Golden Hills Resort in Lead has donated the use of their conference room in case of bad weather, and the use of their facility to host this poker run!
    • Max Temple and Broken Soul--An absolutely fantastic blues band from Spearfish--have offered to rock the house for a few hours after the run! These guys have a style like Stevie Ray Vaungh. Max, the lead guitarist, is only 18, but this guy is definitely going places!
    • Ill Bill Grafix has provided us with a wicked design for the bandanna and T-shirt.
    • The Silverado Franklin Gaming Complex in Deadwood has donated 4 dinner buffets!
    • Ace's -n- 8's Tattoo and Piercing in Deadwood have donated 1 hour of tattooing and 10 piercings!

    • J & J Optical in Sturgis has donated a $50.00 gift certificate!
    • Perkins Restuarant in SPearfish has donated ten $10.00 gift certificates!
    • The Loud American Roadhouse in Sturgis has donated a $25.00 gift card!
    • The Knuckle Saloon in Sturgis has donated a T-shirt!
    • Tom's T's in Sturgis has donated 1 long sleeve and 1 short sleeve official Sturgis Rally T-shirts along with a $20.00 gift certificate for the Sturgis Wine Company!
    • The Oasis Bar in Sturgis has donated a tank top, T-shirts, and a sweatshirt!
    • Alpine Impressions in Spearfish are printing up the T-shirts for us and are a generous sponsor, helping us with this expense!

A HUGE thank you to all of these sponsors! Without them, this poker run would not be possible. We continue to get more sponsors, and the list will be updated on our website. Hope to see all of you in August!

We live 15 miles from Sturgis, in Spearfish. Let me know what accomodations you have in mind and maybe I can help. Campground, hotel, house, etc. There are a few websites that list accomodations too, like SturgisRally.com. One last thing about the Buffalo Chip, if you buy a wristband for a concert you can stay the night there too. Very nice in case you want to have a few drinks. There are transportation companies like Da Bus and the Deadwood Trolly too. Good luck!

We have been working hard on the poker run for prostate cancer awareness. We are so grateful for the generous sponsors and their donations for prizes. We have an amazing design for the poker run T-shirt and are thinking about making do-rags with the logo as well. John started chemotherapy last week and since hair loss is common, he came up with the do-rag idea! The Street Glide is very close to complete. We posted pics on our website. Lehman Trikes here in Spearfish has been absolutely fantastic! What a wonderful group of caring individuals. Thank you does not even come close to expressing our gratitude towards them for all of their support. If you come out to Sturgis for the rally, stop by Lehman Trikes (off of I-90 by Wal-Mart). They have tours all week long and you could say hi to John!

Hope to see everyone in August!

The poker run is starting to take shape! We have confirmed that the date will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Golden Hills Resort in Lead, SD. We are planning on having Max Temple and Broken Soul performing some rockin' blues! Please be patient as we are still in the planning phase. I just want to update everyone as the information becomes available. Thanks again!
