Scoot is back on the lift... preliminary break-in complete, oil/filter change, cleaned tappet oil screen.  Now to shorten excess wire length, work towards completing build, decide what needs to be changed.

Installed standard length (24-1/4"FXST fork tubes and rubber gaiters.  Needed to increase corner clearance... dragging Jiffy Stand in left hand corners.  Liked the low, short-bike look, but longer forks provide more clearance in corners.

    LOOKIN GOOD

Great looking bike. Best thing about building it yourself, besides the good times collecting parts, planning, changing things as the ideas come to mind mid-build, admiring your handing work as you go, meeting people you wouldn't otherwise would have met, knowing the bike inside and out when done, etc........Ok, there is no one best thing, it's all good. My latest softail bobber build is my aviator pic. Anyway, great job and enjoy. Hope we cross paths on the road someday.

Rattle-can Satin Black over rattle-can self-etching primer... utility paint for a utility build.

Forward controls gone... making the change to footboards.  Headlight wiring complete, a little clean-up left on remaining wires.  FXST length fork tubes installed, rubber gaiters installed, front fender installed, almost time for more road test.

Softail Bobber is back on the road again... time for more tests. Progress so far: more ground clearance = Jiffy Stand doesn't drag, wiring clean-up = no magic smoke escaped, footboards = comfort for my 14's.

Yesterday's evening ride turned into a rain/mud ride. Washed the lime-rock mud off this morning, then took a 50 mile ride to dry the bike. The changes worked out great, footboards are better than I knew they would be... shift lever and brake pedal positions are perfect for my 14's.
