About Our Business
A to Z cycles, inc. formed in 2009 after realizing a demand for used parts in the motorcycling community.
Owner John "Hank" owned a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King. He tried to trade it in on a new model but found that because of current market conditions the bike was not worth as much as what was owed on the loan.
He determined that it was not worth the loss to trade the bike but found an alternative solution. Through EBAY he was able to sell the parts off the bike and found used parts from the type of bike he wanted to buy. Thinking outside of the box he was able to transform his existing bike into the bike he wanted without losing money on the trade.
This process led John and his wife Melissa to the idea that there might be others out there in a similar situation. John then placed an ad on Craig’s list seeking unwanted Harley Davidson parts. Surprisingly, there were several responses. People saw an opportunity to sell the parts that were taking up space in their garages and attics. Many of these people commented that they had thought about putting their parts on eBay or Craigs list but just never got around to it or didn't want the hassle. So now they have an avenue to sell their parts to one person and they don't have to deal with monitoring progress on the internet or have strangers coming to their homes to view the parts.
In August of 2009 A to Z cycles obtained a business license and officially began operating as an eBay store working out of our garage. We decided to start setting up at local motorcycle events to buy parts. Not only were people extremely interested in selling their parts, they were also asking if we could sell them new parts and accessories. They were also full of questions such as where could they find certain things in the local area to modify or repair their bikes in one way or another. We kept getting asked where our store was located so they could come there and see what else we had. From this interaction we realized that this business needed to become much more than just an eBay or event entity catering to used parts only. We had customers asking us for more, they wanted advice; they wanted different parts options and they wanted them for all brands of bikes. As a result we started exploring the idea of opening a brick and mortar facility. After much research it was more than apparent that no one offers all of the things that members of the motorcycling community were looking for in the local area.
Being avid motorcyclist ourselves, we became aware of the fact that whenever we wanted something new or needed to change something we had to be resourceful in our quest to find a solution. It was just something we did without giving it much thought. With people having such busy lives today, they don't want to have to search out what they are looking for, they want one place to go to when they need something and have peace of mind that they will be taken care of with enthusiasm, respect and courtesy. So we put the wheels in motion to offer our resourcefulness, knowledge, and experience to the rest of the motorcycle community through personal contact in addition to the broader reach of the internet.
Since the company began we have consistently maintained 99% or higher positive feedback from our eBay transactions
Both John and Melissa are avid motorcyclists with combined riding experience of over 27 years
