Event Desc

  • The 2026 Ride Reno 200 (RR200) is an AMA-sanctioned, self-guided dual-sport motorcycle rally. The route will start and end at Donner Ski Ranch at 19320 Donner Pass Road in Norden, California. That's close to Highway 80 and way up there at 7,031' in the Sierra Nevada.

If you are a dual sport or adventure rider who likes plenty of climbs and descents along high-altitude forest trails this ride is for you. Last year the RR200 took on the high desert of the Great Basin. This year we are switching it up and going alpine! The routes will encompass much of the Tahoe National Forest in Placer, Nevada and Sierra counties, pass the Yuba and Downie rivers and numerous alpine lakes and creeks, and visit a collection of small, friendly mountain towns. Expect to see epic views and maybe some fall colors.

Camping will be available at Donner Ski Ranch both the night before and the night after the RR200 (Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th).

As the RR200 will use trails entirely within the Tahoe National Forest USFS-approved spark arrestors are required for all motorcycles. The RR200 also uses public roads and highways so all motorcycles must be plated. There will be a tech inspection at rider check-in.

Two route options will be offered:

    A. The "Dual Sport Route" - 196 miles and over 24,000' of climbing. This route has some harder sections and is recommended for more experienced riders. An adventure bike is not a good choice for this route, although an expert rider could do it on an adventure bike. We recommend that you bring your dual sport if you're planning to do the 'A' route, however. There are several points on the 'A' route where a rider can switch to the easier 'B' route if fatigue becomes an issue.

    B. The "Adventure Sport Route" - 166 miles and over 20,000' of climbing. This route is recommended for riders with moderate experience and is adventure-bike capable. You should be confident in your ability to handle difficult terrain such as washouts and mild climbs if you choose this route. This is especially true if you are riding a large adventure bike.

RR200 entrants will be provided route maps for both the 'A' and 'B' routes in GPX and KML formats. No Jart charts will be provided so you will need your own GPS on your bike. The Dust Devils MC will provide sweep riders and limited recovery support but all riders are expected to be able to self-navigate and to handle minor trail-side repairs such as a flat tire. The RR200 is a non-competitive event and no timing and scoring will be used.
