A stone’s throw from Floyd County’s only traffic light and across the street from our hotel, The Floyd Country Store is in the heart of the vibrant Floyd community. For over a century, the Store has served as a gathering place for Floyd locals, travelers, and passersby. In the early 1900s, it opened its doors as a general store in the center of downtown. The Genera Store became a hub for the local Appalachian music and dance scene as musicians with their guitars, fiddles and banjos gather on Friday nights for The Friday Night Jamboree, an indoor concert in the Store, with reserved seats for $16.00 per person.
