Event Desc

  • In the US, approximately 46 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every single week day. That’s equivalent to over 12,500 each year. On February 28, 2003, Cory Duane Cross became one of these children; he was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive brain cancer and was given a less than 10% chance of survival. One out of every five children diagnosed with cancer dies. Again, Cory became one of these children when he earned his well-deserved angel wings on July 28th, 2007. Throughout his 4 ½ year battle, Cory and his family were blessed to have the emotional and financial support of family, friends and even strangers. In an effort to “pay it forward” the Cory Cross Foundation was founded in 2010. The foundation’s purpose is to compassionately provide this same type of support to other children and families fighting cancer. In addition, the foundation also supports the Riley Hospital Children’s Foundation and local youth organizations. Cory’s Crewz for a Cure, a benefit motorcycle ride and live auction, is the largest annual fundraiser for the foundation. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Cory Cross Foundation.

Registration (8:30-10 am), breakfast and “kickstands up” will take place at the Hancock County FOP #140 (400 E Davis Road, Greenfield). Your $25 donation will include an event tshirt and 3 meals. Our event is open to everyone…motorcycle not required. Ride will depart the FOP and roll south to Buck Creek Winery (11747 Indian Creek Rd. S). Step inside and enjoy some tastings before the ride heads on over to the St. Paul Tavern (103 N Webster St) where a light lunch will be served. After lunch, we will Crewz the countryside as we travel to Twisted Sisters Bar (514 W 2nd St.) in Rushville followed by Ben’s Bar (307 S Railroad St., Shirley).  The ride will once again conclude at DRW Farms (3523 N 1050 E, Charlottesville) with a catered meal from City BBQ (free will offering for non-riders) and cash bar from our amazing Park Place Catering crew. Get those bidder numbers in the air for our always exciting live auction that will begin at approximately 6pm and let us entertain your kiddos with face-painting and a Fun Jumps bounce house. Crewz wouldn’t be complete without live entertainment and this year we are excited to welcome Stella Luna and the Satellites.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on August 17th!
