  • STEP, Inc. (Support and Training for Exception Parents), Tennessee’s Parent & Youth Training and Information Center, will host its 6th Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride which will benefit Tennessee children and youth with disabilities on Saturday, June 22. Kickstands up at 11 am. Entry fee is $15.00 per motorcycle, single or double rider(s). Registration begins at 10:30 am.

    The ride will be led by David “Fuzzy” Jennings, an experienced rider and proud father of a young man with special needs. Dutch treat lunch at a stop along the ride. Door prizes will be given exclusively to riders throughout the day. Snacks provided for riders at the conclusion of the ride. Rain date is June 29. All funds raised at this event will be used to improve the education for children and youth with disabilities across Tennessee.

    If you can't join the ride and would like to make a monetary donation, you can do so by clicking on TICKETS button or you can make your donation through the STEP website at www.tnstep.org by PayPal or via mail. Make checks payable to STEP, Inc. at 712 Professional Plaza, Greeneville, TN 37745. You will receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.

    If you are unable to make this ride, but still want to participate on your own, you can become an Alternative Rider for this fundraiser. Map out your destination, register on-line, complete the form, sign the Alternative Rider section, and pay the registration fee. (Support and Training for Exception Parents) is Tennessee’s Parent & Youth Training and Information Center who assists families in navigating the special education process with training and information on IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), offering individual assistance, consultations, referrals, support services, in-person group training, informational materials, and professional training. Services are FREE - birth through age 26. Established in 1989, STEP, Inc. houses one of 109 Parent Centers across the U.S. funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education. STEP is a statewide nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on individual, corporate, and foundation contributions and support. Headquartered in Greeneville (East) with offices in Nashville (Middle) and Memphis (West) with satellite offices in Chattanooga and Jackson, Tennessee. STEP provides bilingual staff in each area. Our goal is to empower parents so that they can become the best advocate for their child or teen and be an effective partner with school staff in planning the appropriate educational programs for their children and youth with disabilities.
