Event Desc

  • The Wounded Officers Initiative, in partnership with the Windermere Police Foundation and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 93, will be holding the very 1st I CAARE for Law Enforcement Ride in support of American Law Enforcement Officers. The collective purpose of the WOI programs is to create and achieve solutions that will effectively address the long term issues and hurdles faced by wounded officers instead of focusing on temporary fixes that a one-time monetary disbursement would provide. The I CAARE for Law Enforcement Ride will help fund the WOI goals of providing Counseling, Advocacy, Awareness, Recognition, and Education (C.A.A.R.E.) and to help raise awareness for officers who are critically wounded in the line of duty and can no longer be law enforcement officers. The WOI team is comprised of dedicated volunteers from within the law enforcement community.

One hundred percent of donations and funding will be put directly towards helping WOI achieve its five key goals, as well as the development of future programs. The Wounded Officers Initiative is requesting monetary or in-kind donations from a variety of public, private, and governmental sources. Wounded Officers Initiative (WOI) is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity

The I CAARE Law Enforcement Ride will start at Seminole Harley Davidson, located at 620 Hickman Circle, Sanford, 32771. Sign-in will begin promptly at 8:30AM and continue until 10:00AM. While at Seminole Harley, ride participants will be able to take part in the Seminole Harley in store Poke Run for a chance to win a Seminole Harley $100 gift card and will also be able to purchase breakfast sandwiches. A safety briefing will begin at 10:15AM and kickstands will go up at 10:30AM. Local law enforcement officers from Seminole County and Brevard County will escort the ride to the American Police Hall of Fame, located at 6350 Horizon Drive, Titusville, 32780. Once at the American Police Hall of Fame, riders will be welcomed by music and a variety of unique food vendors. Ride participants will also have free admission to the American Police Hall of Fame and be eligible for a variety of raffle drawings. (Rain Date: October 10, 2015; rain out will be announced on the webpage, social media, and via email no later than 10PM on October 2, 2015)

Our goals are great and the cause even greater; however, we need your help to achieve it all. Donations to the Wounded Officers Initiative meet IRS contribution deductibility; Fed. Tax ID# 47-3764037
