Event Desc

  • Jonathon Cote was a U.S. Army Veteran from Western New York who was taken hostage, along with four others, while working as a private security contractor in Iraq on November 16th, 2006. He was held captive/missing for 523 days before his body was flown home to us in Buffalo on April 28th, 2008.

Family and friends of Jon have organized a motorcycle ride and fundraising event in his honor on August 7th, 2016. We have created this event to raise money for an annual $1,000 scholarship for a student of Williamsville North High School in Jon's memory. Additional funds will be donated to WNY Heroes, in order to help them serve and support our WNY military heroes and their families.

Sign-in for the motorcycle ride will begin at 10am in front of Williamsville North High School at the horseshoe entrance on Dodge Road, near Jon's memorial tree and plaque. Sign-in will end at 12:30pm, followed by an informational rider meeting. We will leave the school with a police escort at 1pm on a 1.5 hour scenic route that will end at The Lewiston Stone House (755 Center Street, Lewiston, NY). The cost is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. Everyone will receive a lapel pin, vehicle decal for participating, and a free meal.

Even if you don't have a motorcycle or can't participate in the ride—please join us at The Lewiston Stone House at 2:30pm when the motorcycles will arrive for the party. Just $10 for entry, lapel pin & a meal!
