The Fire & Ice Historic 66 Bike Rally falls under a Non-Profit Organization called the "Grants MainStreet (GMS) Project, Inc." The mission of the Grants MainStreet Project is to build partnerships with diverse groups and individuals to revitalize Historic Route 66, educate visitors and citizens about the historic and economic wealth of Grants, enhance the quality of the environment, including buildings, signs and landscape improvements, and develop a positive image that will attract tourism through ongoing community involvement, growth and pride.
The Fire & Ice Bike Rally is part of our Promotions Committee and therefore it is a fundraising event. This is our 15th Anniversary and the bike rally will take place on July 17, 18, and 19, 2015 in Grants, New Mexico. We will have live entertainment, contests with prize money given away (Biker Rodeo Events, Poker Run, Ride-In Bike Show, Baby Biker Contest, and Bull Riding Contest), motorcycle stunts, a beer garden, merchandise and food vendors all weekend long.
On the evening of Friday, July 17 we will begin the live entertainment with local bands and end the night with Turn the Page - A Bob Seger Tribute Band.
Our Headliner for the night of Saturday, July 18 will be the band Slaughter! In 1990 Slaughter hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through
everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, "Up All Night" certainly fit into that mold, their second chart-topper, "Fly To The Angels" was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band's music and lyrics.
And on Sunday, July 19 we will have two local artists from New Mexico live on stage, Ms. Tanya Griego and Darren Cordova Y Calor!
