    I remember my first CA (combat assault) well. I was a medic and waiting for the squad to clear the door when the doorgunner said to me, "What? You need a fkn invitation? Get the hell out"!!! For some reason I thought we were going to get closer to the ground. Yah, right!

    Thanks guys. Sometimes we had to be diplomatic (?) when we landed to offload. First rule was NEVER, and I mean NEVER, get in the way when we picked the guys up!!! LOL

    My hat is off to these guys, (Door Gunners) because laying down lead, and protecting the grunts was there job, and they did it well.

    How about some tunes of the time......This door Gunner is using an M-60 firing a 7.62x51 round or 308 Cal.
