on a run to glacier hit some mud in a parking lot and laid bike down on the primary case. it leaked about a hand full off oil. you dont find this oil just any where.red necked the bolt 1/4 turn and road back to nevada. sooo checking things out . i was told i could run 20/50syn motor oil in all the cases engine tranny and primary.what do you think ? i ride mostly back roeds in the west and finding special oil not going to happen

i've been using amsoil 20/50 for everything. works very well. tried a regular trans fluid - belray - not to say this is no good, but the amsoil seems best.

MOST PARTS places carry LUCAS MOTORYCYCLE FULLY SYN it has a red label 20/50 Amsoil is good to but a little harder to find I have run LUCAS for years in all three holes Backroad riding as well as touring in Road Kings Street Glide an current CVO street glide run 70plus out WEST in 100 plus heat all day long with no Trouble I would say Amsoil an LUCAS Motorcycle syn. are the best Lucas wins just because it found in more part stores across US

I run Mobil 1 20/50 in both bike motors and HD primaryand 75/80 gear oil in HD tranny and Yam rear.

I run syn in mine as well.  

I run Mobil 1 20W-50 V-Twin Synthetic in all three and never had a problem.  Can find it at any auto parts store when on the road.

this is very good to know that the 20/50 syn has worked.going to change mine to make life simple
