Got our new home.  Closing in a few weeks.  Excited as hell.  No more snow.  Home here in Ohio is still for sale BUT, we just might hang onto it for awhile.

Here's the new place in Lillian, Alabama just 1/2 mile from the bridge to Florida across Perdido Bay.   Damn!!!!  The better half is excited.  There are hundreds of homes for sale there; mostly by the kids of retirees who've gone.  Some really great deals for anyone who wants to spend the winter in Alabama.

Hey Jimmy looks like from Pigeon Forge Tennessee to Lillian Alabama is 544 miles and 8 hours. On the map looks like you are close to Pensacola Florida. That would be a nice drive to the coast and stop in to see ya.

It is a nice ride.  A couple years ago we were over in Maggie Valley.  It was raining in Ohio so I called my friend in Lillian and told him we were riding down to do some laundry.    I can't say exactly how we got there but it was a back roads diagonal path and it was simply a great ride.   And yes, our new home is 1/2 mile from the bridge into Pensacola.  We'd be right of scenic highway 98 on Rte 99....turn right at the bridge.  I'll give you a headsup when we're there and you're welcome anytime.

    Peace

Congrats on the new home and the sell of the old home. Enjoy your new life in the south, and please don't rub it in when I am stuck in a frozen tundra and you are out enjoying the wind… ; )

Things are moving along. We close on our current home here on July 3. Close in Alabama on July 13. Got us a u-haul truck and gonna load up everything; mostly plastic storage tubs, motorcycles, tools, and just a bit of actual furniture. I told Gypsy we could get new furnishings if we sell this house. So she sold everything here. Did I stick my foot in my mouth or what? That's o.k.; just means less we have to move and I may "actually have a say" in how we furnish the place (yeah, right).

    Peace

I can't begin to tell ya'll how excited I am. A couple of old farts starting over. It's almost like I'm escaping from a rat race. And to some degree we are; leaving all the Ohio BS behind.
