Springfield Armory XD40 subcompact

Just bought a new little toy, wanted to see if anyone else here has shot an XD before? So far I love it......did a lot of research on it and everything I read was positive. I spent 8 years in the Army as a Tanker and we carried 1911's, M16's are just too big to try to lug around getting in and out of the tank so we carried the 1911 (later the M9 Beretta) and the M3 "grease gun". Anyhow, it kind of reminds me of my old 1911, has the same grip safety on it. Going to go to the range with it soon, can't wait to fire it and I love .40 almost as much as .45! Anyhow, anyone else use one?

My wife has an XD 9, hits what ya shoot at but if ya don't have your arms extended the casing hits ya in the face.
She is planning on trading it in on a Ruger.

Buddy of mine has one he brings when we go to the range. They are cool little guns.  Reminds me a lot of the Glock 19, but even a bit more compact.

    heres what it looks like...

I am a BIG time 1911 kind of guy (carry a 1911 45 Kimber Pro Carry) but I have owned and carried both XD 40 and 45 and they were great guns. And your right AZ the 1911 is a bit on the heavy side, and I find myself constantly pulling up my pants, small price to pay for a one shot weapon.

Enjoy and be safe at the range

Man it fires nicely. Maybe it's because I am so used to the 1911, but I love the feel of this pistol. I will take some pics of my groupings, but this thing is spot on. Best money I have spent on a firearm in a long time, well worth every penny! Thanks for all of your input by the way guys, I appreciate it!
