When I pull my choke cable out and start the Evo and walk 5 feet away the cable sides back in causing engine to die  .
Has anyone else had this problem?

Very common problem... Where the choke knob mounts to the bracket there is a nut on the back. When you tighten that knob it crushes an o-ring applying tension to the shaft, which is what holds it in the desired position. Just snug that nut up and you should be fine.

If you can't tighten it, yo may need to take it apart and replace the 0-ring...you can go to ACE Hardware and buy one for 17 cents or go to Harley and spent a few bucks

Wow, thanks Lucky. I have just been dealing with it, sitting on my bike holding the choke until it was warmed up.

Yup, mounting nut like others said. Have had the same thing happen to me. Don't have that problem with my S&S. No cable.

Yeah it was pretty simple once it was pointed then spelled out, lol.

+1 here on replace cable if mounting nut is tight learned the hard way .. trying to tighten the nut too much ..

Yeah, I think we choke this subject enough!!!
