Seems like life has been very full lately.Upgraded to a bigger bike in April and did a small trip logging my first thousand miles while getting to know my new to me bike.Don't think I have it named right because its all male in character. In the midst of my trip I came down with some kind of garbage but had a clear enough head to keep from hitting flying sleeping bag from the lead bike while running about 75mph.Long story short, they never knew they lost anything until I was no longer in their mirrors after they rounded a curve. They freaked thinking I'd gone down, only during they're turn around did they see me cutting a fast u turn in the middle of flying traffic on a narrow two lane.I was not a happy camper, especially when they thought it was my sleeping bag.....Good Grief....So today the other bike not the new one is at the shop getting new rubber and a oil change since its there and my oil case is empty......oh heck there is always something to spend money on.Have to keep them ponies rollin '

It was not my gear nor my packing on the led bike.I won't pack anything that is not secure, after pack and secure a cargo net is then placed as my final line of defense.I am always checking for anything that has shifted during fuel stops. My new rule is if your carrying gear and I didn't pack it, then you'll dang sure ride behind me....My first blessing was realizing early on the second day of the trip that if I went any further to my destination I would have no plan B of sucking it up and riding on home. That decision was a hard call, the led bike road behind me with luggies flying in 30mph -40 wind as I cranked it up to 80, managed to pull into home around 9pm after a long dinner break and the original led bike lost its shifter bolt half way home....shaking head on the side of the road at 5pm.Yes, out came sockets and bag of nuts and bolts which found one the only one that would work....Man,God is soo very good to me even if my leathers were covered in snot when I got home it sure wasn't blood from jammin on breaks to miss gear in the road.I know I bonded with that new ride at that very moment....seat suction as we did some major swerving instead of major sliding....no breaks at that speed for this gal.Amen;-)
Congrats on the new ride, and ya made it back in one pieceOften thats the best reward of all, seeing the lights of home after a long hair raising trip !!!
