Well, I added another scoot to the collection. 1988 FLTC Tour Glide. It needs a little work, a new primary gasket, brake lines, etc..., but overall, very clean considering it's age. Put about 300 miles on it today and it ran great. I'm looking forard to doing a full restoration on it eventually. Right noe I'm just going to tke care of the bugs and enjoy it.

I dream of the day I can buy a bike that has been 'mildly customed' no Arlen Ness junk hanging on it nothing out of the Custom Chrome catalog because like you I'd take a nice looking older bike and just fix all the bugs and ride it like it like it was meant to be... but that's me.

Thanks for all the replies. If anyone comes across a OEM ignition switch please let me know. The barrel is shot in mine and I'm having a tough time tracking one down. I guess I'll be hitting the swap meets full force this year.

Have you tried any cycle salvage yards for the ignition switch? There are two that I know of in the bay area here.
Can check for you if you'd like.?
stay safe n enjoy the ride!

Usually pretty hard to find Harley parts in cycle salvage places but I have seen em from time to time. Last one I saw was in this big cycle salvage yard in Phoenix and the bike they had would run but didn't have a VIN so they couldn't sell it and were waiting for the Highway Patrol to come get it and they had been waiting 2 years for them to come get it! LOL

If you're talking about "Bob's" I'll be checking with them.

I'm heading up to the Swap Meet in Long Beach on Sunday. I keep my eyes open for the OEM ignition switch.
Do you know what range of years will work on your bike?

I' 90% sure any tour glide from 1986-1992 will work. I'm less sure about 84-85, but they might. Harley has the part listed as obsolete and refers to the Electra glide (86-92, if I remember correctly) switch so, that would probably work as well. I'll get a picture of it tomorrow and post it.

sorry took so long for me to post a pic. I had a family emergency so, I was unable to get to it
